What is the mechanism from trial concept to protocol
development?
Concepts submitted by an
ECOG investigator for consideration
within PrECOG must be first be reviewed by the
ECOG Disease
Committee to determine if the concept has scientific merit. The
concept then must be approved by the
ECOG Executive Review
Committee prior to the PrECOG Board of Managers’ review and

Do PrECOG trials have to go through CTEP?
No, since PrECOG trials are not NCI funded trials they do not
require CTEP approval.
Does PrECOG offer membership?
PrECOG does not offer membership To participate in PrECOG
studies, you must a member of
ECOG in good standing.
What type of clinical sites does PrECOG have, and where are they primarily
located?
PrECOG has an established network of premier sites, ranging from
academic institutions and large medical centers to an extensive
network of community centers through Community Clinical Oncology
Programs (CCOPs), and Cooperative Group Outreach Programs
(CGOPs). The PrECOG sites are primarily located within the
United States.
If my site participates in ECOG studies, can I participate in PrECOG
studies?
Yes, but PrECOG must qualify your center and invite you to
participate due to the limited number of sites that may be
required for a particular study. If your site is interested in
participating in PrECOG studies, please contact PrECOG at the
number listed below.
What kinds of clinical trials does PrECOG offer?
PrECOG mainly offers phase II adult oncology clinical trials. A list of active and pending PrECOG studies can be located (place

Will my site get ECOG credit for patient enrollment to PrECOG studies
Yes, ECOG enrollment credit will be applied to PrECOG
enrollment.
Can CCOP centers participate in PrECOG trials?
Yes, CCOP centers can participate if they are
ECOG members in
good standing and are qualified by PrECOG.
