Welcome
to PrECOG
PrECOG is a research company that focuses on cancer clinical trials. PrECOG, in conjunction with industry partners, develops clinical trials in all areas of oncology. PrECOG, LLC was formed in 2006 by the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG). PrECOG’s main purpose is to sponsor clinical trials that enhance the scientific program of ECOG by creating an expedited system to perform Phase II adult oncology clinical trials through a faster, more nimble mechanism as a prelude to ECOG. PrECOG is the preferred mechanism for rapid piloting of investigational arms for future Phase III Cooperative Group trials through PrECOG.
About PrECOG
PrECOG has the experience
to provide full service clinical trial oversight
and management of all key facets of sponsor
related responsibilities under an IND. PrECOG
has master contracts with an established premier
network of institutions that allow for a more
efficient study start-up, streamlined processes
throughout the continuum of study operations.
Strong existing site relationships to facilitate
study start-up, and expedited timelines for
data collection. PrECOG personnel work closely
with
ECOG sites, and have a strong working knowledge
of their site operations. Unlike
ECOG, PrECOG
is solely funded outside of the public health
system and utilizes a separate structure from
ECOG for all facets of clinical trials operations,
including site selection, data management, regulatory,
and reporting.
PrECOG is governed by a Board of Managers. This
Board is comprised of a Director of Operations
and six members of the senior leadership of
ECOG, each of whom are prominent in the institutions
to which they are primarily affiliated. The
six members of the
ECOG senior leadership consist
of two ex-officio
ECOG officers, and four representatives
of the constituencies of
ECOG (Disease Committee
Chairs, Community Clinical Oncology Programs,
and Cooperative Group Outreach Programs). The
operational links between PrECOG and the disease
committees of
ECOG, and the requirement for
committee endorsement of all clinical trials
in particular diseases, ensures that the ideas
to be tested in PrECOG studies will be of the
highest relevance for the development of improved
cancer therapy.
